Hello everyone! We have Teresa Reasor with us today.

She is here to do an interview so we can get to know a bit about her. She will be answering questions about her books, writing in general and a few random questions as well.

What is your latest book?

Whisper In My Ear
cover.jpg
It’s a Contemporary Romantic Fantasy.

What is it about?
It’s about a Mermaid and a Siren. Both have been forced to live on land and hide what they are and pretending to be human. Both have been isolated by their special genetic abilities and in Katrina’s case, by being deaf.

Has it been released yet?
Yes. It was released January 25th.

What was your favorite part while writing this book?
Writing from my Siren heroes point of view. Being A Siren he was used to having women fall at his feet because he could seduce them with his voice. And he has the added advantage of being the lead singer in a band. Forcing him to build a relationship with my heroine, the human way, was fun. Katrina my heroine is deaf so it made him work hard for her affection instead of using his special gifts to seduce her.

Any certain part stick with you?
The ending. It’s important for the reader because it’s the last thing in your book they’ll read and remember. It’s important to me because I want my characters to experience the emotional closure to their story. Or in the case of Whisper In My Ear—it was the hope for more to come for Drew and Katrina. And in this particular book, I was even able to give my villain a poignant ending to his story.

What is the hardest part about writing for you in general?
Leaving my characters behind once I’ve finished the book. I get very emotionally attached to them and I don’t want to say good-bye. That’s why I’ve loved writing my SEAL Team Heartbreakers Series. I haven’t had to give them up because I can revisit the team somewhere in each book.

What is your favorite part?
Building my characters. Giving them life. Giving them distinctive personalities.

What is your favorite color?
I love warm colors. Red is my favorite.

What is your favorite food?
Chicken of any kind. I must have been a chicken hawk in a past life.

Any television shows you prefer?
Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and The Originals. I love vampires and monsters. Mermaids and Sirens.

How do you relax?
I read as much as I write and I’m an artist so I draw and paint. Right now I’m trying to finish the last 9 illustrations for a children’s book I’ve written. ( I have pictures of some of the illustrations if you want one let me know)

Anything big on your bucket list you want to do? Like sky dive, travel or learn a language.
I traveled to Italy my junior year in high school and Scotland and Ireland about 4 years ago. I’d love to return to all those countries and see more of Europe.

Do you have a favorite author?
Nora Roberts- her writing is like music. I love Sandra Brown as well- her writer’s voice is beautiful.

A favorite book?
I have many favorites. But Karen Robard’s One Summer is one of them.
OMG! Johnny Harris is a bad boy and an ex con and I absolutely loved him and the story. It’s set in a small town in Kentucky.
And I’m hooked on Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch series.

Any kind of genre you love or hate?
I’m an eclectic reader. I’ve read Inspirational to Erotica. If it’s well written, I’ll read it.  But I love romantic suspense the best.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate. I think it needs to be declared a food group.

Do you have any hobbies?
I paint, draw, and I do quilling which is rolled paper filigree. I make cards and do framed compositions with quilling. Being a retired art teacher there are several other art forms I enjoy as well.

Have you used anything you’ve been through in a book?
My father was in the Marines for 24 years. I’ve used the experience of being a Marine Corps Brat in every SEAL Team Heartbreakers book. I know what it’s like to wait at home for a loved one to come home from deployment. What it’s like to move every 2 ½ years from base to base. I love and have the utmost respect for our men at arms and their families.

Have you been inspired by anyone while creating a character?
I’ve been inspired by so many military men. Marines, real Navy SEALs and personal friends and family who are ex military from many branches of the service.

Do you have any upcoming events? Such as Book signings, appearances or Facebook Events?
Yes. I have a Valentine’s Day event coming up on Facebook. February 13th. There will be 11 of us participating.
